Friday Faves

Happy weekend everyone! I am counting the minutes until 5pm and I can hit the road! I am hoping to start this "Friday Faves" as a regular blog post to share things I am looking forward to over the weekend or highlights from the week.
Let's start with some new fashion....

Ah, the Jolie Necklace is here! I have been waiting on this little beauty to get here! I may have found my new fave statement necklace--lightweight, bright color and can be worn short or long. LOVE HER!

Next up is this super fun event I am looking forward to tonight with one of my girlfriends
We went last year & had a great time--good food, yummy drinks and some tunes. I am in. I need a fun night out.

Tomorrow I am treating myself to...

And lastly on Sunday afternoon I plan on curling up on the couch with my new book...

So those are my Friday Faves! What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Ashley

The look for less

TGIF friends! I wanted to share an AWESOME steal I got yesterday. I love desingers but sometimes just can't afford the price that comes along with them so I usually try to look for something similar.
Enter sparkly goodness...
From bagborrowedsteal.com
I love these, and everything Tory, but not the price tag...Enter sparkly goodness at a STEAL!
TA-DA! These gold beauties are from the one & only Target...and were $7.48! They are so comfy--my boss called them Princess Shoes today :) They are on clearance so snatch them up fast!
What is your favorite look for less? Leave a comment below!

online shopping scores

Hello lovies!

I wanted to share my latest online shopping trip. First, I discovered this website Ebates.com. You get cash back for just going through their website to make your purchases. They have over 1,000 stores on there. Its great! I have gotten $50 cash back in the last couple weeks from doing my online Christmas shopping & taking advantage of the post-holiday sales. SO in my post-holiday laziness, I ventured to online shopping. I found 2 great deals, & I can't wait to style these items and wanted to share them with you.

Both from Anthropologie
I scored both of these skirts on the Anthro site for $80 and free shipping all together! The first one I fell in love with immediately. I will be able to dress it up(think gold, sparkly top), or dress down(t-shirt, chambray top). The second one is actually a bit different for me. This length typically isn't great on me since I am not super model height. But I love it with high-heeled boots or even dressed up with a pump. I think I will wear it with a t-shirt tucked in and a short jacket. Then enters the next love of my life....
These are from J.Crew via Ebates. Let me give you the numbers first: they were org. $298, on sale for $169 plus an extra 30% off took them down to $118. I had a $100 GC so I only paid $40 which was shipping and tax. DEAL! I envision being able to wear the boots with either skirt. I also think they'd be so cute with a hi-lo hem skirt but have yet to find one that isn't slutty short. The smell of leather when I took these out of the box was beyond. They are to die for and are the new love of my life, sorry honey.
I hope to style these items and show you in a future blog post. What is your favorite place to online shop or what has been your best online shopping score? Leave a frugal comment!

Ashley

Plaid + Fur Vest

Hi friends! How's 2013 going so far? Stylish I hope! I wanted to share a pic from our recent beach vacation. This happened to be a rare moment I put on real clothes as we spent much time being lazy which was fab.
After seeing some pictures on pinterest like this one....
Via Pinterest from Sidesmilestyle
I felt inspired to create my own plaid + vest look. It was the perfect "look cute but be cozy" at the beach.
Shirt: Target, similar
Fur Vest, Arden B, similar
Pants, Target, similar
Boots & sunnies were gifts
Necklace, My Stella & Dot website
What do you think--love the plaid and fur trend?

January: new year, new you!

With January, comes goal setting, resolutions, vows, and optimism. All of which are great but with out an action plan are worthless. I know this isn't fashion, clothing, or shopping related but I wanted to share something that I am going to do in January in hopes it makes my home, work, and blog life easier. So... If you feel like your house/life/desk whatever looks like this....then hopefully my idea will help!
31 days to a more organized you--- so I took a piece of paper and divided it in three columns: home, work, blog. I wrote down everything I could think of that I wanted to do to organize or better one of these areas of my life. After I did that, I took another piece of paper and numbered it according to the calendar. I then assigned the projects/to dos/actions to a date. I kept in mind when I have trunk shows, or commitments and didn't schedule something for that day. Weekday projects might be just organizing a drawer but weekend projects might be closets. In a separate place, I took some time to write down my goals for 2013 for home life, work life and blog life. I'll post these in my office and my daily planner so I can see what I am working towards and refer to it often. I hope you will take the time to reflect, goal set, and make 2013 your best year yet!

Ok back to fashion later this week---can't wait to share my latest shopping score!

Xoxo,
Ashley
